Eye Emergencies

   Here at Edgewood Eye Center, we are always willing to help should you experience an eye emergency. Our office provides emergency services for eye injuries, eye infections, and other urgencies. With our state-of-the-art equipment we are able to examine the front and back of the eye for damage.

   We see many eye emergencies including but not limited to: 

  • Eye Infections

  • Uncomfortable, itchy, or irritated eyes

  • Red or painful eyes

  • Sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes

  • Contact lens issues

  • Foreign materials in the eyes

  • Eye Trauma

  • Flashes of light / "Floaters" in the vision

   Many studies have shown that a large number of emergency room visits could have been treated by an optometrist. It is not always necessary to go to an emergency room for eye care as our optometrists are equipped to treat the majority of eye emergencies.

    These signs above indicate that an immediate evaluation or consultation is necessary. Please call us to set up an emergency eye appointment should you need it!
